Water Treatment Plant Operator
JW Environmental employs qualified and driven personnel to operate, inspect, and maintain water treatment plants for its clients. JW Environmental operates and maintains multiple water treatment plants in Baltimore County, Howard County, Harford County, and Cecil County, Maryland.
Typical responsibilities for Water Treatment Plant Operators at JW Environmental include:

- Regular lifting of 50 pounds.
- Travel to and from multiple job sites.
- Observe physical and chemical parameters of raw water and treated water.
- Perform preventative maintenance on treatment equipment and/or filtration equipment.
- Adjust metering pumps as needed.
- Collect compliance samples from multiple points post-treatment.
- Perform other duties, as required.
Water Treatment Operators are responsible for the health and safety of themselves, their coworkers, and the consumers of the water being treated. JW Environmental is looking for qualified, driven personnel that are either presently certified by the state of Maryland as a Water Treatment Plant Operator (preferred) or willing to become certified as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. JW Environmental presently employs Water Treatment Plant Operators and Superintendents, and encourages a work environment focused on internal mentorship, on-the-job training, and continuing education.
Certified Water Sampler
JW Environmental employs efficient and qualified personnel to collect, transport, and report results of compliance samples taken from public water systems. Compliance samples are required to be collected on a recurring basis for all public water systems. JW Environmental currently collects compliance samples for multiple water treatment plants in Baltimore County, Harford County, and Cecil County, Maryland.
Typical responsibilities for Certified Water Samplers at JW Environmental include
- Regular lifting of 25 pounds.
- Travel to and from multiple job sites.
- Observe physical and chemical parameters of raw water and treated water.
- Collect compliance samples from multiple points post-treatment.
- Transport compliance samples to laboratory in a safe, prompt manner.
- Act as a liaison between laboratory and water operators to report results of samples.
Certified Water Samplers are responsible for the health and safety of themselves, their coworkers, and the consumers of the water being sampled. Careful attention to detail is critical when collecting representative samples to ensure the validity of the results reported. Project Manager
JW Environmental relies on experienced project managers to oversee field operations and ensure deliverables are met with each project. Project managers are essential to the timely completion of each project at JW Environmental.
Typical responsibilities for Project Managers at JW Environmental include
- Coordinate scheduling with field personnel and clients.
- Manage multiple project budgets and ensure goals are met.
- Find opportunities and submit bids for new projects for either public or private clients.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding the progress of contract deliverables.
- Report performance of projects to management periodically.
Client relations require an open-door policy with regards to communication.
